QR 2 with White Wolf – Egoism or Asking for Help

Question:

Dear White Wolf,

Today, I asked a friend for a favor. I felt the favor would have helped me out a lot and would not have caused her much trouble, so I got upset when she (initially) refused to help me. While I feel we are all each other’s limbs in our quest to survive, create, endure, I am wondering if it is egotistical to ask something of someone else. nbsp;Or, the opposite, is it simply egotistical for them to not assist a request?
What say you, o wise one?

Response:

No, it’s not egotistical at all to ask a favor from the HEART if you believe someone can help you and you need help, and you shouldn’t be shy to ask. We need to be able to turn to each other for help and support. That’s community, humanity, family. A good thing. It’s only egotistical if you’re being manipulative, cunning, or taking advantage

But I feel it would be egotstical to be upset or fault them if they refuse. You should just humbly accept rejection without judgement. They either have their reasons or their heart is closed due to their own karma, and you must just accept that.

On a deeper level though, the world, the mindm and the ego all arise together and are inseparable. If one disappears, they all disappear, and only the undivided, limitless, blissful self remains. That’s why we meditate: to stop the mind.

When the mind becomes still, the ego disappears, and so does the maya/samsara (this world). This is called samadhi, and there are temporary samadhis and permanent samadhi, which is equivalent to salvation/liberation from the “Wheel of birth and death” (samsara)

Love you, brother.
